Miracles, Do They Happen?

Two horses are running--one tonight, one Saturday night. It will be a miracle if Stay Alert wins tonight; it would be less of a miracle if Cape Town Bay hits the board on Saturday, but a bit of a surprise, nonetheless. So, the question is: Will Eddie, the priest's, efforts at the Shrine of St. Assisi, Dad and Mom's efforts, as the patron saints of our horse ventures, and God just being God be enough for one or both of these big boys to win? The last time both of these ran on the same weekend--in June, 2009--they came in last and second last. It was after that incident that I asked Dad and Mom to be our patron saint; that Eddie visited Assisi and mentioned both by name; and that I reminded God that I encourage all my bettors to share their winnings with the church.
