Stay Alert: Four Wins in One Year? Maybe!

Stay Alert will attempt to make history tomorrow night--at least history for the Heppermann barn. He's running again which means he could win his second race in a row--and his fourth for 2010. The only horse we've owned that won three races in one year is Stay Alert, so we obviously have never owned a horse that won four times in one year. If only he was running in something other than $5,000 claiming races, huh? But, he has found his niche--running with other slow horses--and sometimes he is the fastest of the slow group. Tomorrow night's race is brutal. But the handicappers have picked him as the third favorite. I'm hoping they were sober when they made these picks as I've now decided to believe they know something I don't! Regardless, we're going to find out whether this big gray beauty can beat a group of horses that have all won three races. He needs to--these are the kind of horses he'll need to run against going forward. So, stay alert, big boy--you'll need to!!
